2. I'm the new publicity coordinator for AAIV (and MEIV). More projects coming up

3. I spend USD 5 or less for my daily bread (literally).

4. I'm screwing up my math class AGAIN.

5. I'm still lazy.

6. I'm applying for internships and need help to write a good resume.

7. I realize I really love economics.

8. I'm tired.

9. My friend said I am a survivor, meaning I know how to get around things a lot.

10. Being a survivor doesn't help me get A in my math.

Bottom line: I love math but I can't have it. Have you had that kind of love? =D

ciao.

Politics and Country : The Ugly and the Bad

Fri Sep 12, 2008, 10:57 AM
  • Mood: Not Impressed
  • Reading: Political News and Blogs
  • Watching: Channel News Asia
  • Playing: Badminton
  • Eating: Mom's cooking....yummy
  • Drinking: Water (always water)
This is a country that advocates tyranny, dictatorship, nepotism, chauvinism, rule-by-fear policy, divide-and-rule policy, and discrimination. This is my country.

A certain blogger was quoted saying "The keyboard is sharper than the sword" nowadays. I'm doing my part this day and taking up my stand as an intellectual citizen of this country.

I do not wish to live in fear,
I do not wish to be discriminated,
I do not wish to be detained without trials.

So I'm doing my part today.

For all my countrymen out there,

please stop supporting our government's usage of Internal Security Acts as a means to suppress the freedom of speech.

please pray for the people who are wrongly detained for whatsoever reasons that do not qualify them for a proper trial.

please educate the people around you to learn the truth, to seek the truth, and to spread the truth.

A politician once told me, this country is like your house. If you don't fix it, then no one will and you will have to live in it. This is the time to fix this hole in our country. We shall kill the termites that have been eating our house. We shall start building and repairing our old and broken house for the sake of our younger generations.

Of course, the last resort if to get a new house but still the question remains, where else can you call home except from where you are born?

Awake people. Wake up from your slumber of ignorance.

-------------
I read news regarding politics, education, sports, world issues, and economics consistently.

I hope for those of you who are still more concerned with your studies, your hairstyle, or your friends on facebook, I urge you to really open up your horizon to read more relevant readings to educate yourself with something bigger than just your life.

I endorse the freedom of speech such as stated in the First Amendment of the United States of America,

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

not the Internal Security Acts of Malaysia.

Now, who's with me?

------
And on a very small sidenote, thanks to those who made my birthday more memorable. You know who you are.

Summer Holiday Commences

  • Mood: Sunny Mood
  • Listening to: Various Artist
  • Reading: Children Storybook
  • Watching: Peacemaker Kurogane
  • Eating: Mom's cooking....yummy
  • Drinking: Water (always water)
I have finally came home for summer holiday this early August.

Checklist:
1. Get a work in an investment bank (doing it now)
Well, I don't really work, but I just sit and observe the workers taking calls from people who want to buy/sell the stocks. And I sit there asking various questions to the remisers.

2. Learn Mandarin seriously (doing it now)
All right, I can't be serious during holiday time so my productivity level is extremely low. However, I did manage to learn at least 1000 new characters so far. I'm going to revise them in September to remember them. Mostly, I am reading children story books (which are surprisingly difficult to understand too!) and memorizing the characters.

3. Get my computer reformatted (done)
I did it but it comes back worse than before. What an irony. I'm too lazy to get it reformatted again so I just download a utility optimizer and clean up whatever mess that I encounter along the way. And lots and lots of defragment...... >.<

4. Get a temporary job in the school as a sit-in teacher (done)
I went to my high school for 2 days as replacement teacher and had great time mixing around with my younger friends. More jobs coming up in the month of September, I presume.

5. Learn my math. (PENDING)
Because of my Mandarin lessons every night, I have not had the time to sit down (or rather, I'm too lazy) and learn my math. It's going to be a challenging course involving linear algebra and basic analysis. Gr..

6. Learn Adobe After Effects and Adobe Illustrator (PENDING)
I'm downloading the programs now, so wait......!

7. Learn C++ (FAIL)
I doubt I'll have time to commit myself to this activity. It is just too troublesome. I have bad time management. T___T

8. Reading the bible and Christian books (FAIL)
O.o I don't have the motivation to do this part at all. Summer makes me secular *choi*, lazy and dormant. Hopefully not unfaithful.

I guess apart from that, I get to also spend my time with my friends and family (my brother was at home. WHOO!)

That's it for the summer.

Summer Classes and Plans

Tue Jul 22, 2008, 7:32 PM
  • Mood: Joy
  • Listening to: 4Him
  • Reading: Viruses, Plauges, & History
  • Watching: GTO
  • Eating: free food
  • Drinking: Water (always water)
I am learning about bacterium, virus, immunology, RNA, DNA, and so on and so forth. Basically, it's immunology. I don't particularly enjoy biology but I found the lab to be extremely fun and interesting.

Before that, I also learned in depth about Chinese history until 1911 revolution and President Kai Shek era. Since I'm a history lover, I enjoyed that class a lot.

Anyway, that's a little bit of my classes. I learned a lot in a year time, if I were to reflect upon it.

I learned humanities, math, economics, social science/sociology, arts, biology, history/civilization, and bible study. It's a pretty good one year to sum up.

Apart from that, I'm spending my summer practicing more and more on graphic designing stuff. I've been doing signatures and wallpapers (as you can see some of them). I tried sketching but I realized that I've lost my touch in drawing. I have yet to get back on coloring too.

My further summer plans will be:
1. Learn about investing from a mutual fund company and hopefully to expand my portfolio. Learn about foreign trade or stock market too
2. Learn Chinese
3. Learn basic mathematics analysis to prepare myself for my intro to analysis class next fall.
4. Learn either C++ or Adobe After Effects or Adobe Illustrator
5. Get a part time teaching position in high shcool
6. Spend some time with family and friends

And of course, summer plan will not be complete without bible study and Christian book readings. So I'll do that too.

A lot of things to do in 1.5 months time before school starts again. I shall record down how much I actually manage to do. haha.

  • Mood: Regretful
  • Listening to: Lectures
  • Reading: Plagues and People
  • Watching: Monster
  • Eating: Junks
  • Drinking: Water (always water)
That's the answer that I am looking for.

Why does God takes 7 days to create the world when He could easily do it in 1 day?

Yosh, I have some new entries for you to check out. Summer class is on and I am doing biology and east asian civilization courses.

I just learned about c4d render yesterday (gasps) so I'll be exploring that technique further. Also, Monster (anime and manga) is awesome. If any of you are interested in a detective series that is based in Germany *ahem*anyone speaking German*ahem*, you should definitely take a look at it.

Go Dr. Tenma!
